Wound Management Fundamentals course – special Program

This 30-contact hour course uses a unique combination of educational technologies, distance learning methodologies, and classroom learning to prepare nurses to practice evidence-based wound management with expanded skills and knowledge. Content is based on national wound management guidelines for a broad range of wounds including venous, arterial, neuropathic, and pressure ulcers. Central concepts guiding the content are prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of the healing process using fundamental principles and practical approaches to wound management.
Teaching methods include online learning, didactice presentations, reading, group work, reflective learning exercises, case study analysis, synthesis exercises, demonstrations, facilitated discussion, and hands-on practice.
