	Tuesday, June 5th serve * Dr. stuart Farber MD, University of Wa Medical Center Living Every Minute “We are a culture that denies death…therefore we are all walking towards death backwards! It is better to turn around.”  – Michael Meade This interactive presentation will explore how our lives can be enriched living with the knowledge that each of us has a beginning and end to our story. Dr. Farber share the demographics of aging and dying for the boomer population while also exploring the opportunities for growth and development as a person ages and at the end of life.
	Wednesday, June 6th Advocate * Cheryl Phillips, MD, Senior VP, Advocacy, Leadingage Reporting from OZ – A Federal Update The impact of state and federal budget challenges, along with the promise of health care reform under the Affordable Care Act have together created significant forces of change.  But how are aging services to survive this tempest? During this session we will review the impact of current and proposed  changes to federal  payment and regulations,  and look out to new models of care, discussing how each of our providers in aging services, from housing to nursing homes, have a potential role. It’s not an easy journey and it will take “brains, heart and courage” to truly expand the world of possibilities for aging, but with shifts in our strategic thinking and our ability to collaborate across service lines, we can help be part of the solution for a better system for America’s seniors.
